Supporting Learning Difficulties

Dyslexia and Dyscalculia Support was set up by BA (Hons) qualified, Special Educational Needs researcher, trained multi-sensory specialist and experienced private tutor, Emmie.
Emmie has 25 years' experience of working with children with a variety of general and specific learning difficulties, including teaching English as an additional language. She graduated with a First Class (Hons) Degree covering the subjects of: learning, using ICT as a learning and assessment tool and research (focusing specifically on Special Educational Needs - Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia and Autism). Emmie is also 'Catch-Up' trained (maths).
She continued her studies (post graduate) with a CFPS: 'Supporting Pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties - Dyslexia', accredited by Cambridge University - and continues to keep abreast of developments in educational neuroscience and cognition theory. She also collaborates with other specialists - discovering and adapting strategies and inventing resources for learning.
New this year is the online learning platform which brings learning into the home of students with two-way interaction, video lessons and resources for your young person to do at home (subjects: English, maths and science - SATs, 11+, GCSE and A'Level).
Emmie also has access to other professionals in educational psychology, speech and language specialisms and occupational therapy for referrals - if a different kind of specialised support, or diagnostic assessment is required.
